The IFSSH Congress is the highlight of the IFSSH calendar. The 1st IFSSH Congress was held in Rotterdam in 1980 and this scientific gathering has continued to be held every three years since, often joining with the IFSHT for a combined congress of surgeons and therapists. The hosting rights for this event are offered on a regional rotation basis; societies apply to host the congress six years prior to its occurrence.
